Activity #8 – Time to Make Marshmallows!

Who doesn’t like marshmallow? It’s a delicious treat! But have you ever tried making your own? Here’s a recipe to try!

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 tablespoon gelatine

1 teaspoons vanilla

2 teaspoons lemon juice

Method: Place sugar, water and gelatin into small saucepan. Stir until sugar and gelatin is dissolved.  Boil without stirring for 10 minutes. Allow to cool. Add in vanilla and beat until thick and white. You can add colouring at this time if you want coloured marshmallow. Pour into a greased tin. After its set, cut into squares and toss in toasted coconut.

Variation: For some fun, pour unset marshmallow into ice-cream cones and put sprinkles or hundred-and-thousands on top!

You can try a bit less sugar, if you don’t like things too sweet.

Yummy? Do you like it better than shop bought? Comment below! 😀
