Quest for Leviathan!
Some of us recently had the pleasure of receiving an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) of this thrilling short story. Some of you might be interested in grabbing a paperback copy (or ebook) and embarking on a journey to conquer Leviathan! The author is an American homeschool graduate who has published multiple short stories and novellas.
Leviathan took the life of his father. Anath has spent three years preparing for the voyage that will end the threat of Leviathan. Yet as the Valor launches into the depths of the Mediterranean, an inward quest also begins, taking Anath to depths he is not willing to face.
Here’s a review Lauren left on Amazon:
Even though this story is less than 5,000 words, the author did a great job of filling it with vivid imagery and strong messages that flowed with the actual plot. The story takes you on a journey with Anath as he comes to a point where he needs to make a choice—to fight or surrender. So often we struggle with this same concept. Do we really trust that God’s ways are better than our ways? Or do we limit God to what we can see and desire? I’m sure it’s a story I’ll read again and be able to glean more important truths from.
I appreciate the fact that the author tried to stick to the Scriptural account in Job about the Leviathan. And unlike other Biblical fiction, I didn’t feel uncomfortable reading this. Nor did the book contain anything inappropriate or magical. I also enjoyed reading the bit at the end where excerpts were paired with the Scriptures they were based off. Thanks Amanda for taking the time to write this story and for weaving so many truths into it!
